Hi,

Quick question, will you simulate the DITCHING button on the overhead?

Thanks! :)

It seems they're going for maximum simulation of all systems, so I'd guess this would be included. :)

Best regards,
Vulcan.

Hi there,

Just a small question: what this function stands for in Airbus?

Thank you.

Pressing the guarded "DITCHING" button causes the pressurization system to send a "CLOSE" command to:
  • the outflow valve,
  • the emergency ram air inlet,
  • the avionics ventilation inlet and extract valves,
  • the pack flow control valves
thereby making the aircraft fuselage as watertight as possible and hopefully enabling it to stay afloat long enough for everyone to get out before it sinks.
Cheers,
S?ren D.

Just to make things clear: it's not only used for actual ditching situations, but also for normal situations. F.e. during de- or anti-icing where prevents de-icing fluids from entering the aircraft.

Sorry for being stupid, what exactly is ditching? I was thinking ditching is when the aircraft lands in the water but then saw there is a button for it...That can't be right...Can someone please expound?
